Line and Shape
Photo Chosen: The photo I chose for my line and shape project was my picture of an American flag
What locations and subject matter did you choose to shoot for your photos?: I took my picture of an American flag outside of the high school.
Describe the photos you took: I took my picture while it was windy and the flag was blowing in the wind. I left part of the flagpole in at the bottom to help honor the rule of thirds and to lead the viewer’s eye up the pole and to the flag itself
What is the distance in the shot? (How close or far away are you from your subject?): I was quite far away from the flag when I took the photo due to the fact that I was on the ground and looking up at the flag.
What was your point of view when you took the photos? (from above, below, straight on...): I took my picture from below the flagpole and flag.
Are your photographs horizontal or vertical?: My photo of the flag is vertical.
Did you consider the rule of thirds to compose your shots? In which photos? Describe.: I considered the rule of third in my photo by trying to make the flag itself take up more room than it would normally take and by keeping the flagpole in the picture.
Which one of of your photos is a dynamic composition that successfully leads the viewer’s eye through the work?: My flag picture is a dynamic composition due to the fact that it leads the viewer’s eye from the bottom of the flagpole, then up the pole, and finally to the flag.

Pattern and Texture
Pattern and Texture Reflection
Describe your best photo: My best photo is my picture of a flower with a blurred background.
What is the distance in the shot? (How close or far away are you from your subject?): I am extremely close to the subject of the shot. I would about 2 inches away from the flower when I took the picture
What was your point of view when you took the photos? (from above, below, straight on...): I was slightly above the flower when I took the picture.
Is your photograph horizontal or vertical?: My picture is horizontal.
Does this photo follow the rule of thirds? Why or why not? (Describe): My photo does not follow the rule of thirds because the flower is in the center of the shot, breaking the rule of thirds.
Is this photo an example of pattern, texture, and/or rhythm? Explain: This picture is an example of pattern mostly due to the repetitive nature of the flower leafs. This picture also has hints of texture in the center of the flower.
Which image may be overexposed ? (too bright) Why? Which area/areas is/are too bright?: My fourth picture (The picture of the leafs) may be overexposed. I personally notice that the leafs are a bit too bright, causing the details of the picture to be decreased slightly.
Which image is underexposed ? (too dark) Which area/areas is/are too dark?: My fifth pictures (The picture of the bench and its surroundings) May be overexposed. The trees behind the bench may be too dark, causing the leafs to lose some dimension.
Which image is the best example of a properly exposed photo? Explain why: My first picture (The picture of the flower) is the best example of a properly exposed photo. This is because the picture has both lights and darks, evenly distributed throughout the picture.
